Internet poker has become world famous as of late, with televised tournaments and celebrity poker game events. The games popularity, though, arcs back in reality a bit farther than its television scores. Over the years many variants on the original poker game have been developed, including a few games that are not quite poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely resembling twenty-one than old guard poker, in that the players bet against the casino instead of each other. The succeeding hands, are the established poker hands. There is no conniving or different kinds of bamboozlement. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to ante up prior to the croupier saying "No further bets." At that point, both you and the casino and of course every one of the other gamblers acquire 5 cards each. After you have looked at your hand and the dealer’s 1st card, you have to either make a call wager or accede. The call wager’s value is on same level to your original ante, indicating that the stakes will have doubled. Surrendering means that your ante goes instantly to the house. After the wager comes the face off. If the dealer doesn’t have ace/king or greater, your bet is returned, plus an amount on par with the ante. If the casino does have ace/king or better, you win if your hand beats the bank’s hand. The house pays money equal to your initial bet and set expectations on your call bet. These odds are:
- Even for a pair or high card
- 2-1 for two pairs
- three to one for three of a kind
- 4-1 for a straight
- five to one for a flush
- 7-1 for a full house
- twenty to one for a 4 of a kind
- fifty to one for a straight flush
- one hundred to one for a royal flush
