Texas Holdem is all about people and seating. All experienced Holdem enthusiasts concur that position in no cap Texas Hold’em is fundamentally essential. Playing your hole cards in last position could be a whole lot more beneficial than in early poker position. This is because a whole lot more information is gathered right before acting.
As an example, I was playing a $1-$2 no limit cash match at a local poker room. I came in holding 2, 9 unsuited on the croupier marker, so I could see a bit of action. Flop arrived A-A-4. A bettor in early position placed a $15 wager. 2 players fold and it was now my turn. I should have dropped out, but something appear to be a little odd. I ID’d this guy as a weak-tight player, and regularly if he had the best hand he would only check, so I called.
The turn showed with a 7, making it A-A-4-7. My competitor laid another bet of $20. I deliberated for a while, but took a chance to re-raise an additional $30thirty dollars on top of his $20. He dropped out and I take the pot.
Playing late spot provides you an insight into where you stand by observing how other players react and bet. On the flip side, players at starting position could use their poker spot to check-raise the late positioned competitors and trap them afterwords at the end. In Hold’em, both spots, late and early should be played carefully.
