Mrs. Duke might not have captured her first WSOP Bracelet until ‘04 but she is one of the most feared poker competitors around the cash games at The Bellagio in vegas. Annie’s longawaited WSOP bracelet came with a win at the "cast aside game" of Omaha hi/low.
While players from the "younger crowd" of poker run wild following a large win at the tournament, Annie heads home to be "mom" to her four kids. Annie was born in New Hampshire and raised into a family of poker players. If you do not accept that, watch her brother, Howard Lederer, in action who taught her how to gamble on the game.
However, Annie Duke is no small change girl and has won her share of difficult tables, which includes knocking out Howard along the way on a couple of occasions. They are both competitors that have the capability to win the huge money and do so with a smile.
Mrs. Duke is a strong player at any poker table because she is a legitimate poker player, but it is a little more than simply being great at the game. Annie is extremely smart and graduated from Columbia University where she double majored in English and Psychology.
When you sit across from her at the table you know Annie Duke is there to compete in the game and she begins "sizing" you up as soon as you sit down at the table. If you cannot bet like a Champion, then do not waste your time.
Earning over three million dollars in tournament competitions, Mrs. Duke branched out to become a adviser to both the UltimateBet poker room and actor Ben Affleck, who aspired to hone his abilities and develop into a power at the tables.
You may catch a glimpse of her at the Bellagio, you will see Annie on the television and you may even play against her in a net poker game, but don’t anticipate an easy win. Except of course you’re a camp-in-the-making, you will not defeat her. Although, it’d be fun to mention you played at the at the table with "The Duke".
