Annie Duke might not have won her first World Series of Poker Bracelet until 2004 but she remains one of the most powerful poker players around the ring matches at The Bellagio in Las Vegas. Annie’s long-awaited World Series of Poker win came with success at the "forgotten game" of Omaha Hi-Lo.

While players from the "younger generation" of poker go berserk after a big win at the tables, Annie heads home to be "mum" to her 4 kids. She was born in New Hampshire and was raised into a family of poker players. If you do not accept that, have a look at her sibling, Howard Lederer, in action, Howard taught her the best method to play poker.

However, Annie Duke is no small-potatoes girl and has won her cut of difficult matches, including knocking out Howard a few times on numerous occasions.

Earning well over $3 million in tournament action, Annie branched out to become a advisor to both UltimateBet and Hollywood actor Ben Affleck, who aspired to build up his abilities to become a force in poker.

You might just notice her at the Bellagio, you will see her on the tv and you might just even compete against her in a net poker game, but do not expect an easy win. Unless you’re a rising star, you’ll not beat her. However, it would be cool to say you sat at the same table as "The Duke".
